Bringing the Heat for Friday Night Lights
When the Shadow Mountain Matadors take the field for those electrifying Friday night lights, you can bet their fierce pom and cheer squads will be leading the charge with unstoppable energy and spirit. As an award-winning program that has claimed numerous state championships and top national finishes, these dynamic teams are true forces to be reckoned with.
This past season, I had the honor of capturing their senior banner and group portraits, and let me tell you, that photo day was simply fire! From the moment the pom and cheer ladies arrived at the newly restored football field, they brought an incredible cool attitude and fiery expressions that made for an explosive series of images.
While their routines and cheers undoubtedly amp up the crowd at every home game, these athletes are so much more than spirited sideline performers. They're nationally-competitive dynamos who have represented Shadow Mountain at top cheer competitions across the country, including hard-earned finals appearances and podium finishes.
In fact, the coed cheer squad has dominated at the state level, securing AIA championships in 2019 and 2021 before powering their way to a phenomenal top 5 finish in 2024's national finals. Talk about #SquadGoals!
Of course, no elite team would be complete without strong senior leadership. This year's senior class is stacked with talent and determination, including Brooklyn, Haley, Hannah, Isabelle, Jaidyn, Alyssa, Aryannah, and Bridgette. These incredible young women are ready to take charge, rally their teammates, and ensure Shadow Mountain maintains its reputation for unmatched spirit and sportsmanship.
Whether they're nailing gravity-defying stunts, executing razor-sharp choreography, or simply bringing infectious energy to the sidelines, the Shadow Mountain pom and cheer squads are absolute showstoppers in every sense of the word. Their senior portraits and banners are powerful reminders of their dedication and the tremendous skill they pour into their craft daily.
