Mountain Ridge Pride of the West Class of 2023

I can't help but feel a surge of pride and excitement as we celebrate the incredible victory of the The Mountain Ridge High School Class of 2023. They have truly outdone themselves, claiming the title of State Champions at the AzMBA State competition.. The journey to becoming State Champions is no easy feat. It takes days and hours of practice, determination in the heat and even though you are tired, a lot of trust and teamwork. The path to this triumph was no walk in the park. It demanded relentless dedication, unwavering determination, and a whole lot of sweat and tears. From the crack of dawn practices to the late-night rehearsals, these students have poured their hearts and souls into their craft, and the results speak for themselves.

I've had the privilege of capturing some of the most memorable moments of this band’s incredible journey. There's a unique magic in witnessing the raw emotions that come with being part of a winning team. The pride of the West has a long-standing tradition of excellence in sports. Year after year, this school has produced top-tier musicians  who go on to achieve great things. Its well know in the marching band world that the students do everything the football team does, except for longer hours and while playing music at the same time! The Class of 2023 is no exception. These students have not only upheld the school's legacy but have set a new standard for future generations to aspire to.

Beyond the victories and defeats is a deeper significance. It's about the friendships forged, the lessons learned, and the memories made along the way. The bonds that these students have formed will last a lifetime, and that, to me, is the true essence of high school sports. In the end, the Mountain Ridge Pride of the West, Class of 2023, isn't just a band – they're a force to be reckoned with. They've shown us what it means to persevere in the face of adversity, to believe in yourself and your teammates, and to never give up on your dreams.
